BWHA has intitated a blog. We hope it forms the nucleus of a new neighborhood communications tool. Our experience is near nil, so we'll learn as we go. Let us hear from you.
1. The meeting was called to order about 7:30PM, with following members present: Rob Quayle, Buck Thompson, Scott Davis & Lou Millin. The minutes from the last board meeting were approved as sent via email & the treasurer’s report was approved as read. The balance was $1342.71, with 66 members for 2008 and 35 paid thru future years. 66 is about average for the last dozen years or so. 2. Of the 168 homes in Botany Woods, Rob & Buck estimate that 20-25 are rentals. It is not possible to make a precise, unambiguous count. There are some cases where owners move in and out of houses they rent. Some rentals are to other BW residents (for added space). Renters may be in rent-to-own situations. The market is always in flux. Still, this is a useful trend to monitor every few years. 3. Rob will purchase 1000 envelopes for next year’s membership drive. We will not initiate the drive until 2009. 4. Buck will publish an Oct-Nov-Dec Bulletin during this quarter. Rob has a good deal of material collected & will send it to Buck within about a week. Speeding & reckless driving are perennial problems in BW, particularly on Botany Dr. We will include an item about the teen fatality that occurred about 30 years ago near the intersection of Botany Dr. & Botany View Ct. Few current residents are probably aware of it. Maybe this will get their attention. 5. Buck & Lou will re-up as board members next year, and so will Scott if we do not find a replacement. A recap of past board members back to 1998 is appended to these minutes.
